LIBERTY, Mo. – For the second time in a week William Jewell took down Lincoln (Mo.), in non-conference action, this time at home in a 13-3 run-rule victory after a 24-13 win last week. Jewell is 10-32 on the year with a 4-20 GLVC mark.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Carson Beam's three-up three-down top of the first on the mound, a groundout from Justin George put the Cardinals on the board. Matt Goldasich added a run in the second when he laced an RBI double to center for his first hit as a Cardinal.
- Up 5-1 headed into the bottom of the fourth, the Luke Isaacs scored after an RBI double down the left field line, coming in to score when Luke Bies grounded out one batter later. Then with two outs and the bases loaded, the Blue Tigers threw three wild pitches back-to-back-to-back to empty the bases and let all three baserunners cross home plate, ultimetley leaving the frame with an 11-1 lead.
- After a homer that cut the lead to eight in the fifth, Jewell scored on two more wild pitches to take a 10-run lead and run-rule the Blue Tigers, 13-3.
