The William Jewell football team returns to the field on Saturday as they make the trek to Kentucky Wesleyan College for a non-conference match up. The Cardinals are 6-2 all-time against Kentucky Wesleyan, including taking the last two.

This match up will be heightened for both squads as the Panthers are searching for their first win since October 19, 2024 while Jewell will both primed for competition after their previous cancelation while carrying with them an added layer of determination. KWC enters the week at 0-1 after dropping their season opener 44-24 to Kentucky Christian and are led by fifth-year head coach Tyrone Young.

Last fall, Jewell posted a dominant 48-21 win over the Panthers at home, led by MicahJo Barnett. The then-sophomore got things started immediately with a 75-yard touchdown run on the game's first snap as the Cardinals broke out to a 20-0 lead and never looked back. Barnett finished with 150 rushing yards and three scores, the best game of his career, while Ben Murawski led the defense with 15 tackles and an interception.
