The William Jewell College volleyball team wrapped up day two of the Tarleton Invitational as the Cards split two matches to even their record at 4-4 on the season. Jewell dropped their opening match to Texas A&M-Commerce 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 12-25, and 25-18), while winning a three set match 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-20) over Incarnate Word.
In the opening match against Texas A&M-Commerce senior
Hannah Herndon led the Cardinals with 14 kills along with 15 digs.
Jordan Jackson netted 9 kills, while
Cailynn Hayter tallied 22 assists and 12 digs.
The Cardinals got back on the winning track in the second game of the day against Incarnate Word.
Kaylee Marquardt tallied 10 kills, while Hayter totaled 20 assists and 5 digs. Herndon finished with 9 kills and 20 digs.
Katie Damgar
recorded 21 digs, and
Christina Pratt was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Cardinals will next open Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday, September 14 against Missouri S&T at 7:00 p.m. in Rolla, Mo.
