The William Jewell College women's basketball team dropped their home opener, 80-58, to Pittsburg State University on Tuesday night at the Mabee Center in Liberty, Mo. 

Pittsburg State took control by using an 11-1 run late in the first half and went into halftime up 46-21. 

The Cards struggled from the field only hitting on 29 percent of their shots and only 20 percent from three point land. 

Cassy Nicolay had 15 points to pace Jewell, Chelsea Meeks and Kelsey Nickerson added 10 points each.

William Jewell, now 2-2 overall, will take on Upper Iowa University on Saturday, November 23 with tip off set for 2:00 p.m.
