The William Jewell College softball team continued their swing through southern Missouri taking on Missouri S&T on Sunday in Great Lakes Valley Conference action. The Cardinals shutout the Miners in both games 3-0 and 5-0.
In game one, the Cards scored one in the first and two in the fourth which proved to be all they would need in the 3-0 shut out victory.
Rachel Hayden (10-4) tossed a complete game seven hitter while striking out four. Ashely Barrett went 3-4 with a run scored and
Faith Song went 2-3 with an RBI.
In game two, Jewell scored two in the fourth and two in the fifth and again relied on quality pitching to guide them to a shutout victory. Corrine Frei tossed a complete game three hitter while striking out three.
Barrett had two more hits with an RBI and a run scored while
Brittany Madsen went 1-3 with two RBI's.
Jewell will next travel to Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday, April 24 to take on Rockhurst University at 3:00 p.m.
