Cards Compete In Dutch Holiday Preview

Results

The William Jewell College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams competed in the inaugural Dutch Holiday Preview hosted by Central College in Pella, Iowa on Saturday. 

The Cardinals had a very successful meet and broke several records. 

Julia Parker broke the indoor High Jump record with a mark of 1.60 meters (5' 3") and placed 4th overall.  The previous mark  of 1.57 (5' 2") was set by C. Coffmann in 1991.

Gretchen Mayes broke the 55 Meters record with a time of 7.44 seconds.  The previous time of 7.46 was set by Miranda Wettstein in 2001.  Mayes also won the Long Jump with a mark of 5.38 meters (17' 8").

Alec Whiteside won the Weight Throw with a mark of 15.35 meters (50' 4.5").  Whiteside also placed 4th in the shot put with a mark of 13.97 meters (45' 10").
Trevor Nicks won the Shot Put with a mark of 14.78 meters (48' 6").  Nicks also placed 3rd in the 14.83 meters (48' 8").

Margaret Perko won the 55 Hurdles with a time of 8.38 seconds.  Perko also placed 2nd in the Long Jump with a mark of 5.07 meters (16' 7.75").

Blake Alexander placed 2nd in the 55 Hurdles with a time of 7.70 seconds.

Emmalee Hyde placed 3rd in the Shot Put with a mark of 11.13 meters (36' 3.25").

Jessica Goldsberry placed 3rd in the 300 Meters with a time of 42.83 seconds.

Shelbie White placed 3rd in the Pole Vault with a mark of 2.90 meters (9' 6.25").

Isaac Mattis placed 3rd in the Pole Vault with a mark of 3.95 meters (12' 11.5").

Travae Jones placed 5th in the 300 Meters with a time of 36.78 seconds.

Will Frank placed 5th in the High Jump with a mark of 1.90 meters (6' 2.75").

Quentin Riser placed 6th in the 55 Meters with a time of 6.77 seconds.
 
"I was extremely pleased with today's performances," said head coach Tom Eisenhauer.  "It was good to get some high places against some great competition.  We've still got some things to work on but I believe we are starting off in a great place."

The Cardinals will next compete on January 10 in the Doane Invitational in Crete, Neb.
