Full ResultsThe William Jewell College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships last week.Â
The women's team finished with 37.5 points good for ninth place while the men finished in tenth with 19 points.
Highlights on the women's side saw
Margaret Perko finish second in the Pentathlon and she achieved a personal best with a provisional Qualifying mark of 3312.Â
Julia Parker took home third in the Pentathlon and was able to set a personal best as well.Â
Gretchen Mayes finished third in long jump, Â Perko was 8th in long jump.
On the men's side,
Alec Whiteside finished 7th in the weight throw while
Quentin Riser advanced to Sunday's finals in the 60 Meters and 200 meters setting personal bests in both events.Â
Blake Alexander was able to advance to Sunday's finals in 60 Hurdles. His time coming out of prelims of 8.14 was a new school record and personal best and was also a Provisional Qualifying time that is tied for 29th in NCAA-II.
The Cardinals will open up the Outdoor portion of their season on March 21 for the University of Tulsa Duels in Tulsa, Okla.Â
