RECORD WATCH
On Saturday
Will Schneider surpassed Brad Strauss for most rushing attempts by a quarterback in the NCAA era with his 216th. He already holds the mark for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback and is just four shy of the total mark of 18, held by
Trejuan Mask (2014-17).Â
Â
Brock Geisz enters week eight with 187 career tackles, surpassing former teammate
Quayde Bauman (2015-17) and just 11 off the NCAA era record of 208 held by Jimmy DeStefano (2012-14).Â
Â
STILL STREAKING
Kicker
Dalton Dye continues to keep the Cardinals tied for first in the league alongside Indianapolis and Truman after hitting all 16 point-after-attempts this season. Dye has now hit 38 PAT in a row, dating back to November 2017. The redshirt junior has missed just two in his career, both coming during his freshman season. The NCAA record for consecutive PAT by kicking is 73 set by Luis Berlanga (Northwest Missouri State) in 2004 and later tied by Tom Schneider (North Alabama) in 2008.Â
Â
THE JAGGWE
Jalik Jaggwe continues to be one of the top receivers in the GLVC as he ranks second in reception yards per game with better than 89. His 716 receiving yards are the most for a Cardinal since
Anthony Mullins 782 in 2016 while his four 100-plus receiving yard games are the most in the NCAA era for a single player, surpassing Mullins (2016) and Jon Molzen (2013).Â
Â
GLVC DEFENSIVE LEADERS
Brock Geisz continues to lead the Jewell defense with 9.6 tackles per game, good enough for third in the GLVC.
Cameron McKasson sits at No. 10 with 7.9 per contest while
Jack Gordon,
Antonio Wabanimkee, and
Major Walker all sit just outside the top-10.
Donte' Colum is one of just 10 players in the league with double digit pass breakups with 10 for an average of 1.25 per game. Â
Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Cardinals managed to force Truman State into three turnovers, which ties their season high but could not overcome the Bulldog offense who put up 49 points.Â
Â
Will Schneider finished with 255 passing yards and three touchdowns on 18-of-31 completions. Jaggwe collected his fourth 100-yard receiving game of the season with 114 and caught two of Schneider's touchdown passes. Geisz and McKasson each posted 10 tackles to lead the defense.
