CARDINAL NOTES
- The Cardinals are coming off a 52-0 loss to Truman last weekend, marking the first time Jewell was shutout since 2014.
- Youngsters are ruling the running game in the GLVC this fall, including Jewell's Tabren Yates who is one of three freshmen ranked in the top-12 with more than 44 rushing yards per game. Of the top 12 in the league, six are freshmen or sophomores.
- The Cardinals have two quarterbacks in the top-12 in the conference in passing yards per game as Anthony Pritzel is ninth with 162.3 while Bart Harris is tenth at 108.6. Will Schneider has appeared in three games with an average of 58 yards.
- Jalik Jaggwe collected 92 receiving yards on Saturday to push his career total to 1,539. The fifth-year senior is now 571 yards behind Bulla Graft (2015-18) for No. 2. Jaggwe continues to rank first in the NCAA era with 16.03 yards per catch, 0.4 more than the next player.
- The Cardinals posted a season-high four sacks against Truman State, with one each by Kian Betancourt, Adam Callahan, and Hunter O'Connor, while David Gysbers and Kennedy Miller combined for another. Betancourt leads the team with 2.5 sacks on the season and 9.5 tackles for loss for 25 total yards.
- The Cardinals enter the week ranked fourth nationally and first in the GLVC with four blocked punts on the season. Carlos Lopez has been credited with two of the four while Kobe Oldfield and Kendrick Miller each have one.
- Jewell continues to lead the GLVC and be one of the most disciplined teams in Division II, ranking 12th with just 4.50 penalties per game.
ABOUT LINDENWOOD
- Lindenwood enters the week at 6-2 on the season and 4-0 in the GLVC, sitting atop the league standings with three games remaining.
- The Lions average just over 31 points per game while allowing 29 and after dropping their first two games of the season, have won six straight.
- The Lions are led by Cade Brister who owns a 70.8% completion rate on the year with 10 passing touchdowns. Brister was removed from last week's game after a tough play and did not return as Lindenwood turned to freshman Cole Dugger who has appeared in four games with three passing scores.
- Robert Giaimo is tops on the team with 64.1 yards per game while scoring eight times. Meanwhile, Alex Faddoul, Clint Sigg and Payton Rose all average better than 44 receiving yards per game.
- Drew Seers is one of the top defensive players in Division II, ranked fifth in the nation with 11.5 tackles per game with three interceptions.
- Jed Stugart is in his fifth season with the Lions and 14th as a collegiate head coach, winning more than 100 games.
