INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference has announced the postseason awards for the 2021 spring football season. The list includes seven players from William Jewell, with four earning First Team honors, the most since 2005, while three gathered an Honorable Mention nod. In years past, an All-GLVC First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention are chosen; however, due to the shortened spring season, only a First Team and Honorable Mention were honored on Wednesday.

Per GLVC policy, the All-Conference teams are decided by the league's head coaches, who are not allowed to submit votes for their own players. Due to Lindenwood University not participating in the 2021 spring season, its players were not eligible for All-Conference honors.

Earning All-GLVC First Team honors for the Cardinals are offensive lineman Danny Presler, wide receiver Jalik Jaggwe, linebacker Kole Wagener and defensive back Myles Nash. On the Honorable Mention list is offensive lineman Zach White, defensive back Gianni D'Arienzo and quarterback Will Schneider.

Jaggwe earns his second career All-GLVC honor and first, First Team selection after leading the team and finishing second in the GLVC with over 110 receiving yards per game, one of only three players in the league to average over 100 per night. He was also sixth in the conference in receptions and tenth in all-purpose yards per game. The senior posted back-to-back games with more than 120 yards receiving to close the season.

Wagener and Nash led the defensive effort for the Cardinals as the senior, Wagener, was eighth in the league with nearly seven tackles per night, including a career-high 12 against Missouri S&T in the spring opener, when he also forced a fumble. Nash shined in his debut season, with nine tackles while securing  a GLVC-best three interceptions, including two against Southwest Baptist, returning for 26 yards.

Presler, who was also the recipient of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award, earns his first postseason honor while White nabs his second (2019 Honorable Mention) after helping the Cardinals to an average of nearly 438 yards of total offense per game, which ranked second, behind only GLVC Champion Indianapolis. Jewell averaged 26 points, 380 passing yards and 103 rushing yards per game.

D'Arienzo was third on the team with 12 total tackles, including one for loss. Additionally, he broke up two passes, and recovered a fumble. Schneider completed 17-of-28 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown while running for another 82 yards and two scores.
