- Several Cardinals put their name into a top-10 single game list last week, including sophomore Adam Callahan. The linebacker put up a career high 15 tackles against McKendree, the most since Brock Geisz's 16 against Southwest Baptist in week one of 2019 and the highest total by a GLVC player this season. The total is also tied for fourth most in an NCAA era game and is the second 12-plus tackle contest of the season, putting him second in the league with an average of 9.0 tackles per game entering week six.
- Tabren Yates and Jordan Clay formed a potent one-two punch last week racking up 189 combined yards on the ground. The latter had 100 of those yards for the first 100-yard rushing game of the year and the second of his career. Yates picked up 51 yards on a single play in the third quarter, tied for the ninth longest run from scrimmage in the NCAA era and longest since 2018. The sophomore is seventh in the conference with 48.6 yards rushing per game and 243 total.
- As a team, Jewell boasted an impressive run game in week four, putting together 225 yards, the most October 12, 2019 when the team had 246 against Southwest Baptist. The offense was well balanced against McKendree, also throwing for 288 yards and three scores for 513 yards of total offense, for an average of 8.7 yards per play, most by a GLVC team this season.
- CJ Ward connected with Deldrionn Amos twice in the fourth quarter on Saturday, one for a 68-yard touchdown. The longest pass completion of his career and reception for Amos, the mark is the fourth longest completion by a GLVC player in 2022. The junior Ward, also averaged 20 yards per pass in week four, the best mark in the conference this fall.
- Greene Stadium was completed in 1955 and has served as the home of the Cardinals for the past 66 seasons but 2022 will be its last. Following the conclusion of the season construction will begin on The Link Project which will include among its features a new indoor arena, locker room and coaches spaces, athletic training room and student fitness center on the inside of the building along with a new stadium and campus entrance design on the outside. The $20 million campaign was matched this summer and the ceremonial ground breaking will take place on homecoming weekend, on Saturday morning prior to the Homecoming tailgate and kick off.
