INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference has announced the All-Conference awards for the 2022 football season and includes among the more than 100 selections, seven William Jewell players. Earning Second Team honors is Adam Callahan, Deldrionn Amos, Sean Mitchell and Edd Becton while Cole Hon, Carson Anderson and Jordan Clay earned honorable mention nods. 

The All-Conference awards are nominated and voted on by league coaches, who, per GLVC Bylaws, are not permitted to vote for their own players.

Callahan led the Cardinals and was among the top in the GLVC with 97 total tackles, with 12.5 for loss. The sophomore a career high 15 stops against McKendree in week five and receives his first honor. 

Mitchell becomes the first rookie since 2019 to earn a spot on the All-Conference list after posting 88 tackles, including a team high 51 solo. The redshirt freshman also grabbed two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and broke up six passes in his debut season. 

Becton was a force along the defensive line in his first season after transferring to Jewell. The redshirt junior picked up 46 tackles with 12.5 for loss for 44 yards. He broke up three passes, forced one fumble and recovered another. 

Amos led the wide receiver staff with 502 yards on 40 catches and five touchdowns. The junior transfer collected a career best 145 yards and two scores on just six receptions against McKendree. 

Hon has been a consistent presence along the offense line and helped the Cardinals to some of the top rushing performances in the NCAA era, including two games with more than 200 yards. 

Anderson is the lone multi-time recipient, after receiving Second Team honors last season. This fall, the senior was third on the team with 73 total tackles, including a team high three sacks. He also grabbed one interception on one of the final plays of his career to seal the win over Quincy. 

Clay led the Cardinals and was among the top-10 in the league with 463 net yards rushing on 111 carries and one score. He picked up 100-plus yards in two different games, including 151 against Division I Lindenwood.
