Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The William Jewell women's basketball team dropped their final regular season game of the season on the road at Rockhurst University by a final of 70-44.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first quarter brought offensive struggles for both teams as each shot less than 32% from the floor. Tied at seven, Rockhurst went on a 7-0 run before a bucket by Skyler Boylan got the Cardinals back within five.
- The Hawks shot a blistering 58% in the second quarter while Jewell struggled to find a rhythm as Rockhurst broke open a 37-16 halftime lead.
- Jewell found a little more offense in the third period but the Hawks continued to pour it on, expanding their lead to as many as 33.
- The Cardinals won the fourth quarter, 16-10, led by Libby Arnold who scored 12 straight points, including three triples .
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Arnold led all scorers with 21, one shy of her career high. The sophomore went 6-for-13 from the floor and 4-of-6 from three.
- Skyler Boylan pulled down a game high 10 rebounds.
UP NEXT
Jewell has a bye on Saturday and will await the results of the rest of the conference before finding out where they will travel for the opening round of the GLVC Tournament on Monday night.
