ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday afternoon with an 11-5 win over Missouri-St. Louis. The Cardinals improve to 14-4 on the season with the victory. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
	- Jewell grabbed an early lead with run in the first frame as Jake Wilcox walked and scored on a groundout by Alex Epp. The Cards added two more in the following inning with RBI from Wilcox and Cameron Fliege. 
- In the fourth frame, the Cardinals blew things open with six runs on three hits, including a grand slam from Anthony Hansen and a two-run blast by Epp. 
- The Tritons cut in to the lead in the fifth inning with four runs on five hits. 
- Jewell put two insurance runs on the board in the eighth as Wilcox and Chase Elias scored on an error by the UMSL catcher. 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
	- Fliege finished with a game high three hits while Hansen had four RBI and Epp three. 
- Jake Sawyer (4-1) earned his fourth win with a seven inning outing.
