LET'S RECAP
- The Cardinals are coming a tough week that saw them go 0-3 against Emporia State, Missouri S&T and Missouri-St. Louis. Jewell started the week with a hard fought five setter against Emporia State and took one set off the always-strong Tritons of UMSL. Â
CARDINAL NOTES
- Haidan Baade should reach the 1,000 digs plateau this weekend. The senior needs just 12 to join Olivia Tolberd (2015-18), Katie Damgar (2011-13) and Stefanie Richterkessing (2015-18) as the members of the 1,000 Digs Club. With her 18 on against Pittsburg State she surpassed Kaylee Marquardt (2012-15) for fourth in the NCAA era and enters the week tops in the GLVC with 280 total and sixth with an average of 4.44 per set.
- Jewell continues to be a force offensively, ranking 11th nationally with 786 kills, led by Bella LaPorta's 215, which is 16th among all Division II players and leads the GLVC. Through the first month of the season, the Cardinals were hitting well above .200 as a team but have dipped slightly to .194, led by Tatum Ernt (.321) and Alex Dvorak (.301) who rank among the top-11 in the conference.Â
- Belle Reynolds saw the first action of her career last week, coming off the bench against Emporia State. The freshman recorded three kills on six attempts with three digs and two blocks in four sets.Â
- Jewell had three players named to All-Tournament Teams this fall. LaPorta earned All-Tournament honors at the Missouri Southern Invite while Baade and Anna Godfredsen were listed on the Harding Invite All-Tournament Team.
