Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The William Jewell men's lacrosse team wrapped up their inaugural season on Saturday as they fell 12-6 at Davenport University. The Cardinal team, which consisted entirely of freshmen in 2024, finished the season just below .500 at 7-8 overall and 1-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Davenport took a 3-0 lead after nearly 12 minutes of action to open the game before Carson Wright got the Cardinals on the board near the end of the first period with Seth Heath adding a score to get back within one. 
• The Panthers outscored Jewell 3-1 in the second frame to take a 6-3 lead into the break. 
• Heath and Jake Wynecoop each scored in the third period but the Cardinals trailed 9-5 heading into the final 15 minutes. 
• Kade Barvitz scored to get the Cardinals within 10-6 late but Davenport added two more to put the game away. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Wright and Heath each finished with two goals while Wynecoop had one score on a team high six shots. 
• Hunter Mee was 8-for-10 on face offs and joined Bear Anderson with a team leading four ground balls 
• Fynn Ziebarth finished with 15 saves in goal.
