Box Score LIBERTY, Mo. - The (RV) William Jewell football suffered their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling 45-10 to Indianapolis. The Cardinals fall to 3-1 on the year and 2-1 in conference play.
After a muffed kick off return had UIndy back on the 13-yard line, the Greyhounds got an 87-yard touchdown reception on the first play from scrimmage to take the lead just seven seconds into the contest. Jewell got three back as Bleu Renfrow hit the 49-yard field goal to make it 7-3. Both offenses stalled until late in the first half, combining for just four first downs until UIndy scored on back-to-back drives to make 21-3 at the break.
Midway through the third quarter, the Cardinals found some momentum as a penalty changed a 4th-and-5 situation to a first down that set up an eight yard touchdown run from Kavious Record to cut the deficit to 24-10. The Greyhounds took advantage of two Jewell turnovers to add 21 points and roll to the 45-10 win.Â
