William Jewell College football dropped their road contest to GLVC-leading University of Indianapolis 48-3 at Key Stadium on Saturday night.
The Cardinals (2-5, 1-4 in the GLVC) managed only 155 yards of offense, while UIndy (7-2, 7-0) put up 479 yards of offense and were 6-6 in the red zone in winning their seventh straight game.
The Greyhound's win assures them at least a share of the first GLVC football championship.
Thomas Cook, Jr. had 52 yards rushing on 12 carries for the Cardinals, while
Caleb Sims had a dozen tackles for Jewell. Quarterback
Sean Shelton was only 11-21 for 78 yards, and was sacked twice. There was only one turnover in the game, a late fumble by Jewell.
The Cardinals return to the road next weekend, traveling to Urbana (Ohio) for a 12:00 CDT kickoff..
