The William Jewell baseball team split a doubleheader with University of Illinois-Springfield on Friday at Kansas City, Kansas Community College.   Jewell won 6-0 in game one before dropping a 5-2 decision in game two.

In game one, Drew Mitrisin pitched a complete game six hitter to improve to 3-0 on the season.  He also struck out six in the game.  Tom Herrera led the Cardinals with two hits and four RBI's.

In game two, the Prairie Stars used a three run fourth inning to help lead them to the win.

David Collins, 1-5 on the year took the loss giving up five runs on 13 hits. 

Jewell, 7-12 on the year will host UIS again tomorrow for another doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
