William Jewell College redshirt junior pitcher Drew Mitrisin have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference baseball Pitcher of the Week the league announced on Wednesday. 

Mitrisin tossed a complete game four-hitter against the University of Sioux Falls on Saturday to help lead the Cardinals to a 6-1 win.  In the victory, the Columbia, Mo., native gave up one run and struck out 11 Cougar batters in seven innings of work. 

Mitrisin garners his first-ever weekly accolade and is the first Jewell pitcher to win the conference award since Cody Downing was honored on March 26, 2012.
