The William Jewell College baseball team battled the No. 16 ranked Drury Panthers in Great Lakes Valley Conference action on Sunday at Talley Stadium on the Jewell Campus in Liberty, Mo.  The Panthers took game one by a score of 3-0 and took the night cap 4-0.  The sweep improves the Panthers to 35-13 overall and 24-8 in the GLVC.  Jewell drops to 18-28 and 12-22 in conference play.

In game one, Drury scored single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings to produce the final 3-0 margin. 
Drury hurler Austin Falconer limited the Cardinals to only four hits and improved to 7-1 on year with the win for the Panthers.

Cardinal pitcher Preston Felgate (3-4) went the distance as well but allowed 10 hits in nine innings of work giving up the three runs and walking three. 

In game two, Trevor Richards (8-3) and Will Landsheft combined on a one hit shutout and combined struck out 8 Cardinal batters. 

Senior Cody Downing (2-5) took the loss as he hurled seven innings giving up nine hits and four runs while striking out seven.

The Cardinals will wrap up their 2013 season tomorrow with another doubleheader with Drury starting at 12:00 p.m. at Talley Stadium.
