The William Jewell College baseball team (5-7) lost to non-conference opponent Northwest Missouri State University by a final score of 4-3, in Maryville, Mo., on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cardinals jumped out to an early 3-0 lead scoring three in the top of the third off a three-run homerun by
Bryan Rezin.Â
The Bearcats answered with a single run in the bottom of the third then exploded for three runs in the bottom of the seventh and held on for the 4-3 win.Â
Rezin was 3-for-4 for Jewell with 3 RBI's, and
Sam Morman finished 2-4.Â
Chris Mancha tossed six innings giving up seven hits, three runs and one walk while striking out four.Â
Dylan Pollock (0-1) took the loss giving up one hit, and one run in an inning of relief.Â
Jewell will travel to Wichita, Kan., tomorrow for another non-conference game against Newman University, first pitch slated for 2:00 p.m.
