The Cards had a chance to tie the game in the top of eighth but Hunter Brown was thrown out at the plate trying to score from third.

Rockhurst then held on for the 6-5 win.

Chris Mancha started for Jewell and lasted only 2.1 innings before giving way to Devon Burrell.  Burrell (1-1) took the loss tossing 1.2 innings of relief giving up three hits and three runs.
