The William Jewell Cardinal baseball team was swept in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader against Quincy University on Friday at Talley Stadium in Liberty, Mo.  Quincy dominated the double dip taking game one 13-2 and game two 15-0.

Quincy scored two in the top of the first before Jewell responded with a single run to cut the deficit to 2-1. Unfortunately, that is the closest the Cardinals would get to them all day. 

Quincy would score two in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh for the 13-2 win.

Drew Mitrisin (4-4) took the loss giving up 12 hits, 7 runs, and one walk while striking out four.

Coleman Waheed went 3-4 with a run scored.

In game two it was all Quincy as Quincy scored three in the second, two in the third, three in the fith, five in the sixth and two in the seventh for the 15-0 lead.

Nick Farleigh (2-3) took the loss going three innings giving up seven hits, five runs, and one walk.

The two teams will continue their four game series with another doubleheader tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. at Talley Stadium.
