Box Score 2 The William Jewell College baseball team resumed Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday in Rolla, Mo., taking on Missouri S&T in a doubleheader. After dropping the opener 8-5, Jewell came back to dominate the nightcap 10-1.
The split puts the Cards at 31-12 overall and 20-10 in the GLVC.
The Cardinals took an early 2-0 lead only to see the Miners score five unanswered and were able to lead the rest of the way.
Luke Lucchetti went 4-5 with a run scored and an RBI while
Bryan Rezin was 3-4 with a run scored and RBI.
Nick Farleigh (4-3) took the loss giving up 14 hits and 8 runs (6 earned) in seven innings of work.
Game two saw the Cards score early and often. The only inning Jewell did not score in was the second.
Sam Morman led the offensive charge going 2-4 with five RBI's including a two-run homerun in the sixth. Lucchetti,
Bryan Porting and
Andrew Miller all contributed with two hits of their own.
Preston Felgate improved to 4-0 on the year tossing four innings while only giving up three hits and one run.
The Cards and Miners will conclude their four game set with a doubleheader on Sunday starting at 12:00 p.m.
