Box Score The William Jewell baseball team ended a five game skid with a walk-off victory over Northwest Missouri State 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon at Talley Stadium. The Cardinals move to 4-6 on the season while the Bearcats falls to 8-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- B2: Chase Redick led off the second inning with a double before scoring on a stolen base attempt to give the Cardinals an early 1-0 lead. (1-0, Jewell)
- T3: The Bearcats scored two runs on three hits and took their first lead of the day in the third inning. (2-1, NWMO)
- B3: Ben Pautler, Christian Chalabi, and Tyler Carpenter reached base consecutively to load the bases with no outs. After a fielder's choice, Chase Averitt reached on an error, scoring two runs. Redick added a run scoring ground out to push the lead to two. (4-2, Jewell)
- T4: Northwest Missouri retook the lead with three runs on four hits in the top of the fourth. (5-4, NWMO)
- B4: Pautler roped a single through the right side of the infield and stole second before scoring on Chalabi's triple to center to tie the game. (5-5)
- B10: Trent Bollman reached base on an error and advanced to third on a sac bunt followed by a walk. Tyler Murphy stepped to the plate and dropped a squeeze bunt to score Bollman and give the Cardinals the win. (6-5, Jewell)

Winning Pitcher:
Mack Stephenson (1-1) was sensational on the hill tossing six innings, allowing just two hits and no runs while striking out six.
Losing Pitcher: Jacob Wagner (1-1) worked 2.1 innings allowing just one run and one hit.
