Box Score 2 The William Jewell baseball team dropped both ends of a double header at Maryville on Friday afternoon by scores of 12-3 and 2-1. The Cardinals fall to 23-24 on the season and 11-15 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- B2: The Saints got back-to-back home runs in the second to open the scoring and take an early lead. (2-0, MU)
- B3: Maryville got two runs on two hits in the third and extended their lead to four. (4-0, MU)
- B4: A wild pitch and RBI double led to two more runs for the Saints. (6-0, MU)
- B5: Maryville scored two runs on an RBI double by Brennan Williams (8-0, MU)
- B6: Three consecutive singles followed by a home run pushed the lead to 12 after six innings. (12-0, MU)
- T7: The Cardinals rallied in the seventh as free passes to Christian Chalabi and Chase Redick put two on for Chase Averitt who blasted a three run home run over the left center field wall to put Jewell on the board. (12-3, MU)
PITCHERS
Win: Alec Harris (10-3) earned his tenth win allowing three earned runs on five hits over 7.2 innings of work.
Loss:
Mack Stephenson (2-3) took the loss, going four innings, allowing six hits and striking out five.

HOW IT HAPPENED

- B5: The Cardinals cut the lead in half in the fifth as Trent Bollman reached on an error and advanced to third base before scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Averitt. (2-1, MU)
PITCHERS
Win: Andrew Peters (3-3) earned the win, throwing a complete game while striking out 10.
Loss:
Brendan Beatty (5-5) received the tough luck loss, allowing just four hits and one earned run with four strikeouts.
