For the second consecutive season the Jewell baseball program owns the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week honor in their opening week of play. Redshirt freshman
Anthony Hansen received the nod to begin 2019 as announced by the league Monday afternoon.
In his debut weekend, Hansen hit .429 with six hits, including three doubles, to go along with three RBI, a run scored, and stolen base. He helped lead the Cardinals to a series win over Southwestern Oklahoma, winning the final two games of the three-game set 6-3 and 7-1.
This is the first weekly honor of Hansen's career and the first for the Cardinals since
Christian Chalabi on February 19, 2018.
