Beginning today, March 12, all William Jewell College co-curricular activities including intercollegiate athletics are suspended through at least April 5.  
 
Following recommendations from public health professionals, and in a concentrated effort to ensure the health and safety of our community William Jewell will be suspending all co-curricular activities, including practices and contests. Campus will remain open and staff operations are expected to continue as normal. 

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we exercise an abundance of caution to ensure the safety and needs of our community members are being met. This is a rapidly changing health climate, and we will provide email updates to the campus community if Jewell alters plans for daily operations. The College will maintain "business as usual" operations to the degree possible, with campus remaining open and staff working to support the needs of students who reside on campus. To mitigate risk, however, large group visits have been suspended through April 5 and the Mabee Center, Greene Stadium and other outdoor facilities will be closed during this time.

While the NCAA has already begun making changes to its championship events, is important to note that NCAA member schools and conferences make their own decisions regarding scheduling and contesting all regular season competition and conference championship events. 
 
Jewell has no confirmed or suspected cases of coronavirus at this time. Earlier in the month, the college instituted travel reporting and self-quarantine protocols, which remain in effect to promote a safe return to full campus activities.
