LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team will be back on the road this weekend as they travel to Drury for a four-game series with the Panthers beginning Friday at 5 p.m.

CARDINAL NOTES
- Jewell is coming off their best weekend of the season so far as they went 3-1 over Missouri-St. Louis.
- Shane Cavallo was masterful on the mound in game two, throwing his first complete game, allowing just four hits while tying his career high with seven strikeouts. His performance earned him GLVC Pitcher of the Week honors. The fifth-year senior boasts a season ERA of 1.40, good enough for fourth in the conference.
- Jake Wilcox enjoyed a breakout weekend, hitting .562 with four runs scored, two doubles and a triple over the four-game series. The freshman is currently third in the GLVC with a .464 batting average on the season. His eight stolen bases are also second, while his 10 attempts tops the league.
- As a team, the Cardinals are third in the GLVC with a batting average of .296, trailing only Illinois Springfield and McKendree. Along with Wilcox at .464, Drew Reed, Cameron Fliege, Alex Epp, Nick Modrcin and Anthony Hansen are all hitting above .300.
ABOUT DRURY
- Drury earned their first wins of the season on Tuesday following a doubleheader sweep of UMSL to move to 2-6 on the year and 2-4 in the GLVC.
- Aaron Mann leads the Panthers with a .438 average, while four others hit at least .300. Mann has a team-high 14 hits including five doubles.
- Brant Schaffitzel and Jackson Dierenfeldt are hitting .370 and .313, respectively, and have combined to score 22 of Drury's 50 runs.
- Kaleb Schmidt boasts an ERA of 1.13, third in the GLVC, and leads the staff among starters. The senior has started two games, working eight innings and has 14 strikeouts.
- Among relievers, Michael Barnes has made three appearances for three innings and has not allowed an earned run.
- Scott Nasby is now in his eighth season as the head coach of the Panthers, making five NCAA Tournament appearances and owns more than 230 wins.
