CARDINAL NOTES
- Jewell is coming off a split with Southwest Baptist last week, dropping games one and three of the series but winning game two, 7-6 and game four, 17-8.
- Anthony Hansen enjoyed a big weekend, hitting, .467 with three home runs, five runs scored and seven RBI.
- The Cardinals have a knack for going extra bases, with 51 doubles this year, second in the GLVC, led by Jade Smoot's eight. In total, six different players have at least five two bag hits.
- Freshman Will Bailey impressed last week with two appearances, allowing just a single hit and two walks over 2.2 innings of work. Jake MacDonald has also been strong in his return from injury, posting a 1.93 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 9.1 innings.
ABOUT TRUMAN
- The Bulldogs enter the week in search of their first win, coming in at 0-20 on the year, and 0-12 in GLVC play, but have not had any easy road, having already played UIndy, Quincy, Illinois Springfield and the nation's top team in Lindenwood.
- Reid Wilson leads the team with a .281 batting average and a team-high 16 hits and six RBI.
- On the mound, Zachry Schneider leads the starters with a 5.47 ERA over five starts and 26.1 innings. Connor McKenna boasts a team-best 28 strikeouts.
- Dan Davis is now in his 15th season leading the Truman program, and was the 2015 ABCA Midwest Coach of the Year.
