Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team dropped two close games in a doubleheader with crosstown rival Rockhurst on Saturday afternoon by finals of 3-1 and 6-4. 

GAME ONE
Jewell 1, Rockhurst 3

HOW IT HAPPENED

• After four scoreless innings, the Cardinals got on the board first in the bottom of the fifth as Chase Elias laid down a bunt single scoring Cody Lampe. 
• Rockhurst responded with two unearned runs in the top of the sixth and added another on a wild pitch in the seventh. 

FOR THE CARDINALS

• Jewell totaled four hits, from Lampe, Elias, Arian Jimenez-Quezada and Quincy Aldrich. 
• Thomas Hennelly (0-6) took the loss, despite allowing only two hits and one earned run over six frames. 

GAME TWO
Jewell 4, Rockhurst 6

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jewell again scored first with a run in the second inning as Jade Smoot cross the plate on an fielding error. 
• Rockhurst tied things up in the top of the third before taking the lead in the fourth, 3-1. 
• In the bottom of the sixth, the Cardinals loaded the bases and got and RBI walk from Jimenez-Quezada and a sac fly by Conner Morehouse to tie the game at three. 
• The Hawks scored three runs on three hits in the top of the seventh to retake the lead. Anthony Hansen led off the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run but the Cardinals could get no closer. 

FOR THE CARDINALS

• Hansen, Smoot, Jimenez-Quezada and Cameron Fliege had the four hits for Jewell while Smoot also scored twice. 
• Shane Cavallo (2-4) took the loss, while striking out seven over 6.1 innings.

The Cardinals will wrap up the season on Sunday with a final game against Rockhurst at 1 p.m.
