The 2021-22 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. William Jewell landed two on the Academic All-District Four Team in
Anthony Hansen and
Alex Epp.
Hansen earns his second consecutive Academic All-District nod after posting a .365 average with a school record 69 runs scored, 70 hits, 13 doubles, 16 home runs and 59 RBI. The senior outfielder was named First Team All-GLVC and boasts better than a 3.56 GPA in economics.
Epp earns his first honor from CoSIDA, boasting better than a 3.92 GPA while majoring in civil engineering. The junior has enjoyed a breakout season this spring after hitting .399 during the regular season with more than 75 hits and a career best 53 runs, 15 doubles, five triples, nine home runs and 47 RBI. He earned First Team All-GLVC honors and is one of the toughest players to strikeout in Division II.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
