Jewell Hosts Bemidji State for Four Game Series

LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team returns remains at home this weekend for a four-game set with Bemidji State of the NSIC.

CARDINAL NOTES
  • Jewell is coming off a series win over Wayne State College last weekend. After dropping the opener 7-2, the Cardinals responded with commanding 21-2 and 10-0 victories.
  • Freshman Kaden Owens enjoyed a strong series finale against Wayne State, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run.
  •  with five hits while Quincy Aldrich drove in three runs and scored three more.
  • Will Brant and Jake Wilcox continue to hit above .400 on the season while Jordan Phillips follows close behind at .375. As a team, the Cardinals are hitting .270 on the year.
  • Jake Sawyer won his first game of the season last weekend after a seven inning two-hit performance while fanning seven.
  • Mike Stockton who is in his 22nd season at the helm of the Cardinal baseball program, is a member of the William Jewell Athletics Hall of Fame, owning more than 600 career victories.
