LIBERTY, Mo. - The William Jewell baseball team looks to take their hot streak into the first weekend of Great Lakes Valley Conference play as they host Missouri S&T for a four-game series. Due to incoming weather, the schedule has been altered to play a doubleheader on Friday afternoon followed by single games on Saturday and Sunday.

CARDINAL NOTES

• Jewell is riding an eight-game winning streak heading into conference play, having swept four games from Bemidji State and two from Upper Iowa in the last seven days.
• Jake Wilcox is off to a blistering start, hitting .462 in the early going with 24 hits, 16 RBI and a GLVC leading 18 runs.
• After a bit of a slow start, Alex Epp seems to be getting back in the groove, going 5-for-8 in two games on Wednesday against Upper Iowa to raise his average to .386.
• Ben Click has been hot as of late, hitting .600 with seven runs scored, seven RBI, two doubles and three home runs in the last three games.
• Jewell is the top scoring team in the conference with 117 runs through 12 games while also leading the league in doubles.
• On the mound, Chandler Ashby leads the staff through the opening weeks with a 2.89 ERA, eighth best in the GLVC over a team high 18.2 innings of work. He boasts 19 strikeouts including tying the NCAA era record with 12 against Bemidji State last Saturday.
• Mike Stockton who is in his 22^nd season at the helm of the Cardinal baseball program, is a member of the William Jewell Athletics Hall of Fame, owning more than 600 career victories.
