Box Score CANTON, Ohio - The William Jewell men's lacrosse team posted a season high 30 shots on goal on Wednesday as they defeated Malone University 18-5 and improve to 3-0 on the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Olivier LaPlante got the Cardinals started, scoring four of the first five goals, with Brenner Mitts grabbing the other. After the Pioneers got on the board, the Cardinals got six goals from five different players to open up an 11-1 halftime lead. 
• Leading 12-2 with under eight to go in the third quarter, Jaxson Lenz, Aaron Maline, and Nathaniel Leroux scored consecutive goals to push the advantage 13. 
• Malone scored three times in the fourth period before Hudson Parnell found the goal twice in the final three minutes to make it an 18-5 final. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• LaPlante led the Cardinals with five goals while Leroux added four. 
• Mitts, Malone, and Carson Wright all picked up two assists.
• Marcus Damsgaard grabbed a team high four ground balls and forced three turnovers.
• Jewell forced 29 turnovers and picked up 35 ground balls.
