Mack Stephenson and Thomas Hennelly are also back for a fifth year. Stephenson has made 45 appearances with 35 starts and 164 strikeouts during his career while Hennelly had a superb 2019 season with three complete games.
  • Nyk Yaquab was a solid reliever for the Cardinals as a sophomore, after starting the season off without allowing a run over his first four appearances.
  • The Cardinals lost three regular starters to graduation last year, in center fielder Ben Pautler, first baseman/designated hitter Christian Chalabi and second baseman Mason Goade who hit .308 with 11 runs and two home runs.
  • Jewell brought in a 14-member recruiting class, including seven transfers.
  • Mike Stockton enters his 20th season at the helm of the Jewell program, amassing more than 500 career wins. The skipper was inducted into the William Jewell Hall of Fame in 2018 after being selected for the Ottawa Hall of Fame for his work as a player.
