Box Score MARSHALL, Mo. - The William Jewell women's lacrosse team opened their inaugural season on Saturday with a non-conference match up at Missouri Valley. The Cardinals were dominant on their way to a 24-0 victory. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cardinals started fast as Toryn Podschwit scored the first goal in program history just 20 seconds into the game. In total, Jewell rattled off 10 first quarter scores and another three in the second frame to take a commanding 13-0 lead into the halftime break. 
• In the third quarter, four players scored a combined five goals as the Cardinals pushed their advantage to 19-0. 
• Jewell added five more goals in the final frame to bring the score to 24-0 and earn their first win. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Jewell totaled 35 shots while limiting Missouri Valley to just two. 
• The Cardinals picked up 19 ground balls and won 19 of 25 draw controls. 
• Podschwit and Olivia Fornelli finished seven points each while Addison Devers and Sara Polovina added six apiece.
• Kaylee Gross led the defense with three caused turnovers while Madison Kennedy had four ground balls.
