Liberty, MO - William Jewell College is pleased to announce the appointment of Mackenzie Porter as head women's lacrosse coach, effective immediately.
Porter is joining Jewell after spending a year coaching for the local Park Girls Lacrosse Club. The recent graduate of Missouri Western State University was a four-time All-GLVC Second Team selection, while also being tabbed GLVC Defensive Player of the Week twice in the 2023 season. As member of the inaugural women's lacrosse team for Missouri Western, Porter ended her career with over 500 career saves and collecting over 200 ground balls. Off of the field, the Montrose, New York native was a three-time Academic All-GLVC selection, named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll in 2023, and was selected as a two-time recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. Porter began her collegiate playing career at Division I Rutgers University.
Coming from Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York, Porter was a two-time USA Lacrosse All-American and was named NYS Section 1 Goalkeeper of the Decade in 2020, earning numerous All-League and All-Section selections.
Porter earned her bachelor's degree from Missouri Western in criminal justice. She continued her education in St. Joseph, earning her master's eegree in forensic investigations.
