LIBERTY, Mo. – William Jewell College has announced the hiring of
Joe Adams as the next head volleyball coach, effective immediately. He becomes the 19
th head coach in program history.
Adams comes to the Cardinals from Coe College (Iowa) where he was an assistant coach for 11 seasons. During that time, he helped the Kohawks to a record of 226-113 with three NCAA Tournament appearances and four regular season conference championships. He also mentored 47 All-Conference players including three offensive most valuable players, and 11 AVCA All-Americans.
Prior to his time at Coe, he was an assistant at Nebraska Wesleyan and Doane University for a combined seven years, going 144-74 with three national tournament appearances.
Originally from San Diego, California, he played soccer and track and field at Doane where he earned a bachelor's degree in biology in 2003.
The Cardinal volleyball program will open their season during the first weekend of September before beginning Great Lakes Valley Conference action on September 27. The full schedule will be released at jewellcardinals.com at a later date.
