Hall of Fame
A two-time All-American, Dan Cox starred for three seasons along the defensive line for the Cardinal football program from 1971-1973. He was part of Jewell teams that went 22-9 over three seasons, including an impressive 11-1 with a Heart of America Athletic Conference Championship in 1973, when he served as a co-captain. During his career he was a two-time NAIA All-America Honorable Mention honoree, along with earning three All-District First Team and All-HAAC First Team selections. In his final season, he made 141 tackles, tying him for fourth all-time in program history, while leading the Cardinals to a Mineral Area Water Bowl title and an appearance in the NAIA National Playoffs.
