O.K. Evans was one of only two Jewell athletes to letter in five sports in a single year (1918-19), including football, basketball, baseball, track and field, and tennis. He was the conference singles champion in tennis twice and the doubles champion (with partner Myers Mayberry) once. He played halfback in football and was the Cardinals leading scorer in basketball. He led the conference championship baseball team in batting average in 1920 with a .490 average. He was inducted into the MIAA Hall of Fame on June 3, 2019.
