Hall of Fame
Rodger LaBeth spent more than three decades on the Jewell campus as a student-athlete, coach and administrator. As a student-athlete, he was a member of three conference championship football teams, including the first undefeated team in 1967. He went on to be an assistant coach for the football program, including coaching three future Hall of Fame teams in 1980, 1981 and 1982, going 32-4-1 with three conference titles during that span. He then served as Jewell's Assistant Dean of Physical Education, Athletics and Facilities from 1992-1997 and was a catalyst in helping the institution raise funds and construct the Mabee Center in the early 1980s. He then became a guiding force in the establishment of the William Jewell Athletics Hall of Fame, which began inductions in 1995.
