Hall of Fame
David is a graduate of Tipton High School in Iowa and transferred to Jewell after two years at Muscatine Community College in Iowa and one year at Cal Poly Pomona. While he was only at Jewell for one it was a very special year the 1983 baseball team he played on was inducted into the Jewell Hall of Fame last year and that squad won the conference, district and Area IV Titles qualifying them for the NAIA National Tournament. David was named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District and First Team NAIA All-American (Jewell’s 2nd ever after Jack Patterson, ’65) He was nicknamed ‘the doctor’, and finished the year batting just under .500 and was a complete player who led by example. His coach at Jewell was Jewell Hall of Famer, Fred Flook.
