Hall of Fame
Mahlon White was a student at Jewell from 1925-29. He was the first truly ‘big’ man for the Cardinal Basketball Program. He stood at 6’4” and weighed in at 225 pounds. He was a four year letter winner in basketball and a two time All Conference selection. He was honored as an All-State selection in 1929. White led Jewell to the 1925 conference title by hitting a half-court shot in a game against Westminster (whose center was the legendary Henry Iba) to win the game.
