Dick Michel graduated in 1969 and majored in physical education. While at Jewell, he distinguished himself as one of the all-time greats in baseball. This slick fielding second baseman could make every play in the field. Dick was a member of 4 conference championship teams in baseball. He was one of the leaders of the 1968 baseball team which won the NAIA National Championship in 1968. Dick was an All-Conference, All-District and Honorable Mention All-American selection.
